Yoga

Yoga is an ancient practice that may have originated from India; it involves movement, meditation and breathing techniques to promote mental and physical well being. A regular yoga practice can promote endurance, strength, calmness, flexibility and well-being. Yoga is now a very popular form of exercise around the world. At New Oxford International School, we have dedicated weekly yoga classes for students of all grades to ensure that our students have a good grip on their emotions and have increased receptivity and concentration in studies as well as in every activity they do.

Karate

Karate is a Japanese martial art whose physical aspects seek the development of defensive and counter-attacking body movements. The themes of traditional karate training are fighting and self-defense, though it’s mental and moral aspects target the overall improvement of the individual. It is also about spiritual cultivation. We at New Oxford International School offer weekly karate classes for our students with an aim to empower them by developing their self-confidence, self-defense, discipline, coordination, goal-setting, self-control, respect and teamwork & what better than karate to teach all this.

Indoor Games

New Oxford International School has a dedicated indoor games room for our students with games like carom, chess, dart, checkers, brainvita, etc because we believe that along with physical development, mental development is also of utmost importance. Moreover, an indoor game improves the student’s creativity, cognitive skills, hand-eye coordination, social skills, and teamwork and is a great stress buster too. Our students get a 360° development which is our ultimate objective.

Outdoor Games

We at New Oxford International School have a dedicated sports club and outdoor facilities for games such as cricket, football, volleyball, throwball, badminton, kho-kho, kabbadi etc as we strongly believe that outdoor games enhance the students physical health, mental development, social skills, emotional health, environmental awareness and moreover outdoor games leads to the required sunlight exposure which we all know is a good source of vitamin D.

Music

We definitely agree that music positively impacts a child’s academic performance, assists in developing social skills and provides an outlet for creativity that is crucial to a child’s development. It also leads to better brain development, increases human connection, improves grades, helps to socialize and even lowers stress levels, therefore at NOIS our students have weekly music classes which is one of our most popular activities offered.

Dance Club

We are sure all parents will agree that dancing has multiple benefits including improved brain function, increased confidence, comprehensive growth in academics, emotions, social skills, physical health, flexibility, cognitive ability etc. The benefits of dance is multifold so we at NOIS offer weekly dance classes to ensure that our students take advantage of these benefits and have an overall improvements in their skill sets. We have experienced instructors who provide students with solid foundation in technique and style of the dance form.
